Quakes win series 4-3

Game 1 - October 1, 2009 at Rangers Ballpark In Arlington. The Quakes were nipped by the Tigersharks by a score of 6-5. Aaron Cook held the Quakes to 1 run in 5+ innings of work, Quakes rally in 7th thanks to three home runs off Troy Percival, but rally falls just short. Jesse Carlson was the winner. Pegged with the 'L' was Joe Nelson. Cory Wade finished the game for the save. Mark DeRosa paced the winners with a 2-4, one HR, two RBI performance. In a losing effort, Placido Polanco went 3-5 with a homerun and two RBI.

Game 2 - October 2, 2009 at Rangers Ballpark In Arlington. The Quakes shellacked the Tigersharks by a score of 9-2. The Quakes pounded out 14 hits off Tigersharks pitching. Ricky Nolasco won it. He was a workhorse, throwing 130 pitches in this contest, picking up the complete game. Jorge Campillo took the loss. Jason Bay paced the winners with a 3-4, one HR, three RBI performance.

Game 3 - October 4, 2009 at PETCO Park. The Tigersharks defeated the Quakes 5-4 in 10 innings. Matt Cain and Scott Olsen both were ok in this one. B.J. Ryan got the win. Francisco Rodriguez took the loss after he gave up game tying PH homer to Ty Wigginton, KRod then gave a PH single to Cook, who eventually scored when KRod uncorks a wild pitch and the loss. Wigginton had a 1-1 day for the Tigersharks. On the losing side, Jerry Hairston chipped in a 3-4, one HR, one RBI performance.

Game 4 - October 5, 2009 at PETCO Park. The Quakes edged the Tigersharks by a 3-2 score. Armando Galarraga and Greg Maddux both throwing darts, each giving their clubs 7 strong innings of work. With things looking gloomy for SF as Cory Wade the NL saves leader enters, Alex Gordon draws a one walk, Gerald Laird rips a double left, Gordon on his horse scores tying run. Next up PH Jeff Bailey, who laces a single up the middle and Laird scores go ahead. Bang bang bang bot 9th to close it out. The winning pitcher was Craig Breslow. Wade took the loss, he has a 0-1 record. Joe Nelson saved it. Polanco paced the winners with a 2-4 day including one 2B. This was a huge win for Quakes who were looking at a possible 3-1 SDT series lead, but instead pull it out to even series.

Game 5 - October 6, 2009 at PETCO Park. The Tigersharks were bettered by the Quakes 4-1. It was Hamels getting the victory, his record is 1-0. He was a workhorse, going 8 strong innings throwing 130 pitches in this contest. Cook got the loss, his record this season is 0-1. Rodriguez,F saved it. Teixeira paced the Quakes getting four hits in four trips to the plate, with two 2B and two RBI. He raised his average to .333. Hairston had a 2-4 2b, 3b, 2 RBI day raising his avg in series to .643, SF with 3-2 series lead heading back to SF

Game 6 - October 8, 2009 at Rangers Ballpark In Arlington. The Tigersharks edged the Quakes by a score of 11-9. The Tigersharks amassed 18 hits in the game. Quakes had 14 hits in this wild offensive outpouring as SDT shows they will not go down without a major fight. SDT scores 2 late in game to hold off the Quakes rally in 8th. It was Carlson getting the victory, Nolasco the loss. Wade saved it. Ryan Ludwick hit a homerun and drove in three, going 4-4 on the day. He raised his average to .333. On the losing side, Bay chipped in a 4-5, one HR, two RBI performance. Polanco with a 3-4 4 RBI day. Series tied, there will be a GAME 7

Game 7 - October 9, 2009 at Rangers Ballpark In Arlington. The Tigersharks were nipped by the Quakes by a score of 5-3. SFQ jumped out to a 4-1 lead going into 5th, SDT scores 2 runs to make it a 1 run game, Cain settles down in the 6th & 7th holding SDT at bay. BOT 7th Nate McLouth pinch hitting hits a solo job to leadoff inning and some breathing run. Breslow retires the side in order in 8th. KRod comes in and hoping for not a repeat performance of game 3, 3 up 3 down and thats the series! Cain got the victory. Olsen took the loss. Rodriguez finished the game for the save. Hairston went 4-4 with three 2B, one HR and one RBI for the Quakes.
